EUROCON 2026 European SF Awards — "Best Work of Art"

I have been nominated for the EUROCON 2026 awards, within the European SF Awards, in the category "Best Work of Art."

These nominations represent official selections at the national level for the most relevant contributions in the fields of science fiction, fantasy, and related arts, with awards to be decided by international vote at the European Eurocon convention.

My nomination concerns an artistic endeavor situated at the intersection of photography, digital intervention, and generative systems, investigating the way in which the image is produced, negotiated, and reinterpreted in a culture dominated by algorithms.

I would like to thank the editorial team of the Helion journal for the opportunity to publish in its pages, for their appreciation, and for this nomination.

In a way, my digital art brings back to my heart a literary genre that marked my childhood: science fiction.

Two new projects in progress for 2026

I am currently working on two new artistic projects that will be exhibited in Reșița during the course of this year.

Without going into detail about form or content just yet, I can say that these works continue my recent investigations into the invisible structures that organise space, orientation, and the relationship between interior and exterior.

The two projects — Cartographies of the Threshold. From the Archaeology of Access to the Ecology of Opening and Safety Languages. Warnings Without Danger — are still in development. Some points of reference about their construction logic are available in the section dedicated to artistic practice.

From idea to print: "FROM REAL TO AUGMENTED"

It has arrived. At last.After nearly two years of intensive work, searching, silences, and long nights in which ideas would not let me sleep, I can say with joy that "FROM REAL TO AUGMENTED" has reached its final form.

It is not just a book. It is my story, my struggles, and my sincere desire to understand more deeply what generative digital art means in the post-photographic era. It is the result of a personal journey, but also of an academic endeavour that looks toward the future of the image and of perception.

My deepest thanks to Dr. Ada D. Cruceanu and Prof. Dr. Dorel Găină for their support, generosity, and for believing in this project. I am profoundly grateful to my family for their patience and understanding — these were years of "creative solitude", and they knew how to be close even when I was far away.

📚 The book is here. 🎉 The official launch took place on 22 February 2026, at the Multifunctional Centre in Reșița.

Thank you to all those who were part of this moment and of this story.
